Theory of postcolonialism by Bill Ashcroft :-

Heloo guys..
Yesterday we had a wonderful opportunity to listen a famous prof.Bill ashcroft. He is an Emertius professor in the school of English, media and performing Arts.He founding exponent of post-colonial theory.

Here we start  first what pro.Ashcroft told us yesterday about postcolonialism. Before starting I shall clear the concept of colonialism.
Colonialism:-
The definition of Colonialism is the act of one nation controlling another for economic gain.
An example of colonialism was England's control over india...A colonial linguistic expressions.Term or expression of colonial origin entered in language.this picture represented the colonialism in that time.
Let's we discuss about postcolonialism:-
Yesterday we see that sir was very deeply discuss about this very important and wide subject.so let's explain it.
What is postcolonialism?
Its had very interesting journey since 1989,when the rich back was published.doesn't simply  refer to 19th century.British imperialism it help has models.
The term was first used in 1956 in a wider post colonial context by Jacqutes stephen alexis. It was in an attempt to recounil the argument of post war, medical intellectual in favour of social realism is a tool for revolutionary social representation.
It is the historical period or state of affairs representing aftermath of wasten colonialism.the term can be also used to describe concurrept project to reclaim and rethink the history and agency of people subordinated under various from of imperialism.
We see some characteristics of postcolonialism:-
1)Decolonization
2)commonwealth literature
 3)postconolial feminism
4)Racism
5)Orientalism
6)Hybridity
1) Decolonization:-
Decolonization was a period that colonial powers have been completely withdrawn from the exploited lands and they stop the colony in action.ashcroft also indicates that Decolonization is the propose that defines the selection of cultural and industialt traces from the imperialist power.

2)commonwealth literature:-
In general commonwealth literature is a vague term which defines English-language works written in the form of british colonies or place which had the stauts of domination.its also can be said that colonial literature.
In short that time we have literature but its not our particular literature. When british people try to connect with us but for our indian people its not easy and understand english language that time.so they opened english schools and also put english language as subject.just because we understand and connecte with easily.
At this time they went but there giving a very important literature for us.we gain a very main role in english language and create our own way to learn.

3)postcolonial feminism:-it is a form of feminism that developed as a response to feminism focusing.its not use only word 'woman' because its represented only gender not class, race, athnicity or any kind of sexual preference.feminism belief in full social, economic, and political equality for women.feminism largley arose in response to western traditions.british people gave a same stauts in all type like economy, social. And after colonialism we learn also same things.
4)Racism:-  Racism is the belief that groups of humans posses different behavioral traits correspondencing to physical apperence and can be devided based on the superiority of one race one other.
Eg.:-In racism we see that they stop people anywhere who are non-white.all non-white people felt ambarace. Its call colour blindness.it various aspects of this term like..culture , color blindness, economic, institutional.
5)orientalism:-
orientalism is a way of seeing that imagines,Emphasis, exaggerated, and distrots differences of arab peoples and compared to that of europe and the U.S.

6)Hybridity:-
Hybridity is the mixture of two cultures, religion on races.it can be social, political, linguistic, religious, etc.it not a necessarily a peaceful mixtures.its important key used in postcolonialism.when british people left india we accept that culture and involved and mixed our culture in it. So we must awre with this term also.
Above are the some key of postcolonialism.

Critical view:-
If we look at this sight we find that seminal post-colonial writers such as nighrian author chinua achebe and kenyan author nuggui wa  thingo,o have written a number of stories recounting the suffering of colonized people.
'Heart of darkness' by joseph cornad is an effective critique of colonial behavior. But post colonial theorist and authors disagree with his perspective.this term deals with the literature of africa, asia and the caribbian by analyzing the interactions between culture and, customs, and history of indigenous peoples and of the colonial power that governs.
Ashcroft sir consider as 'A group that is socially distinguished or set apart by others and by itself primaly on the basic of cultural or national characteristics.the researcher also has attempted to explore and highlight that the approating linguistic.
In my understanding of this term its great thing for us because british people left india but there is a various advantage we got it.
We say that if they not come that in time we not probably and puraly learn this English language. After they left india we find this term postcolonialism. Colonialism effect were so much even after independence many countries and culture continued suffer from its effects.colonialism's language.displaced regional and national language.
Conclusion:-
In summary we say that postcolonialism its a kind of term which not to easily understand but it's very interesting subject also.this term very useful to various area.Heart of Darkness is the best book to understand this term to deeply.
Thank u..
