The faerie queen is an english Epic poem by Edmund spenser.This is very remarkable work of spenser.books 1 and 2 were first published in 1590,than republished in 1596 together with books 3 and 4.This poem is the longest poem in English language.this is also work in which spenser invented the verse from known as the spensrian stanza.In spenser's "Letter of the authours,"he states that the entire epic poem. The poem was a clear effort to gain court favour,and as a reward Elizabeth granted spenser a pension for life amounting to year.
Summary of poem:-
Book 1- it is centered on the virtue of holiness as embodied in the Redcrosse knight.this book can be understood to be its own miniature epic.
Book 2-
It is centered on the virtue of temperance as embodied in sir guoyn,who is tempted by the fleeing Archimago into neeraly attacking the Redcrosse knight.
Book 3 -
This book is centered on the virtue of chasity-as embodied in britmore.a lady knight.
Book 4-
This despite its title'The legend of csmbell and telemore or friendship. But that not poem is about friendship.The two men appear only briefly in story.
Book 5-
This book is centered on the virtue of justice as embolied in sir Artegall.
Book 6-
Its center on the virtue of courtesy as emboliedin in sir colidore.

1)Allagory of virtue:-
In this poem poet also describe the allagorical presentation of virtue through Arthurian knights in the mythical " faerieland".In that we see the six virtues Holiness,Temperance,chasity,Friendship, Justice and courtesy. And the faerie queen herself represents Glory.this unfinished seventh book appers to have represented the virtue of "constancy".
2)Religion:-
This poem is wrriten during the reformation, a time of religious and controversy. Spenser also includes the controversy of Elizabethan church reform within the epic. Spenser also endows many of his villen with " The worst of what protestant considerd on depective images.
3) politics:-
The faerie Queene suggests that the Tudor lineage can be connected to king arthur.This poem is deeply allogrical and allusive; many prominent elixabethans could have found themselves partially represented by one more of spenser's figure .
The poem also displays Spenser's through familiarity with literary history. The word faerie Queene is based on English Arthurian legend, but much of the language, spirit, and style of the piece draw more on italian epic.
4)Archetypes:-
Some literary works sacrifice historical context to archetypal myth, reducing poetry to biblical quests. Throughout the Faerie Queene, Spenser does not concentrate on a pattern to focus the meaning of the past on the presents. Within the this poem Spenser blurs the distinction between archetypal and historical elements delibarately.For example, Spenser does not believe in the complete truth of the british chronical,which Arthur reads in the house of alma.
5)Symbolism and allusion:-
Throughout this poem spenser creates "a network of allusions to events,issues,and particular persons in England and Irland".It is also known that james vi of scotland read the poem, and it was very insulted by duessa.The faerie Queene's original audience would have been able to identity many of the poem's character by anylizing the symbols and attribute that spot spenser's text.For example,readers would immidiatly know that " a woman who weares scarlet clothes and resides along the tiber river presents the roman cathelic church.
Conclusion:-
In nutshell we say that This is a Renaissance, English epic poem. It is the first poem ever written in the form known as the spensrian sonnet. The poen consist six books and every books are wonderful.
